throw the book out the window! KBB does not mean a thing in this topic. just talked to the owner of the local chevy dealership and he says he cant move the pickups. Take the price from KBB and knock off 3-5 grand. My dad is looking at the same kind of truck but this one only has 15,000 miles on it and he is going to pick it up for under $25,000. I will say this you could pick up that truck new for about 36 grand in the year of 06. so you take that truck and put 2 years on it and the economy being crap and no one wants the trucks for daily driver. I will say offering $23,000 is not a crazy offer.

I would offer even less- maybe $21K. The important point is DON'T LET THEM THINK YOU REALLY WANT THE TRUCK! If they think you really want the truck, they will play hard ball and it will cost you more! If they turn down your offer, Tell them you will think about it-- and leave! That will save you $$$$.

Also don't talk about payments until you get the price you want. They will have you signing a low payment contract for 72 months.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help. I just spoke with the owner of the truck and was able to talk him down to 24500 which from looking around seems like a good deal. what do you guys think.

Just to elaborate on the truck a little. like I said before its an 06, cc, srw, lbz, lt3 package, navagation, 2 dvd players, leather, power everything, onstar, xm, bose, chrome runners, trifold bed cover, spray liner, 34000 miles, in pristine condition.

My theory is that these truckes were going for about $30,000 dollars maybe 5 months ago, and also the employee discount from GM is ending soon so I thought once the economy comes back a little and the GM discount is gone these trucks will rise in price again.

ya just remember that it is a good price but dont expect to get your money back out of it. there are dealerships in my area that wont trade for a suv or pickup. If you ever go to sell the pickup you will be siting on it for a bit.

Paid 34K for mine in Jan 08. Doesn't have the DVD player though. Anyways with the economy as it is, 24.5K sounds pretty good. Not many are selling trucks these days.
