Welcome to the DF.... I am like you in the cummins being a very close second in my choice and the only other diesel I would ever own. The Thing I like about the D-Max is it is a great all around truck. Plenty of power, room a great ride and good looks. And the only probs I had were the injectors. As for the Dodge I have had 3 of them. 2 diesel and one 1/2 ton. the 2 diesel trucks you could not keep the front end together in them and the trannys were junk. But they also had very hard lives on the farm and both had close to 400,000+ on them when I got rid of them. So my choice on witch to by would be depending on its use. The Dodge is great if all you are going to do is beat the crap out of it at work and never take a trip in it. The D-Max if you want a truck to work play and take the Fam. on vacation with.

if your looking at buying a new 6.7L Cummins versus a LMM Duramax i wouldnt even consider the 6.7L CTD after hearing the amount of problems they are having with it since it is a brandnew engine but i know Cummins will work the bugs out ofem but for now i wouldnt buy one.from all the Diesel that come thru our 4 tire shops the Duramax/GM trucks cause the least amount of trouble for our customers..

Go with the 06 you will love it. I have had a dodge too. It reminded me of a big arm. That thing would pull but it lacked a lot in comfort.

I have owned all three and I keep comming back to the d-max. I am on my second one. My first diesel was a 99 cummins and it was a hard worker but it felt like you we in a tractor. Then I got an 04 Ford f250 I had that for 2 months before I made the dealer buy it back. Talk about a pile of junk. Then I bought an 04 d-max and fell in love with it. I just traded that in on my new 2008 and Love it even more. You cant go wrong with a d-max.
