Just picked up my new 08 Quad cab Duramax last saturday and so far I really like it. Was a little nervous coming from my 06 Cummins that I loved so very much, just needed a little more room and the Mega was too big.
The power is very impressive for a stock truck, the LMM seems to be an over achiever or a little underrated. Definately does not have the raw power that my Cummins had with the Smarty but is much smoother and much more comfortable and that is why I went with the D-max.
Have a lot to learn with the GM diesels, was pretty familiar with the Cummins but now need to re-learn all over again. Just need to decide to remove the DPF or learn to live with it.

What modifications did you have done to your Cummins? There are a lot of things that can be done also to upgrade Duramax to compete with any diesel out there. Congratulations on the upgrade to the D-Max and welcome to the forum.

If you ditch the DPF you can expect a 3-5 MPG gain. The downpipe back system for the 07 classic will fit and then you need either Quadzilla, PPE Race, or EFI Live to block the codes.
