| First time owner of a diesel Hello all just got a dmax yesterday and i love the diesel world that this community has to offer. My new diesel is a 03 gmc duramax 2500 with one mod (i think) it has a mbrp turbo back exhaust and that it. The problem i have with it is that it smokes idleing and it doesnt have a chip in it even when you get on it it rolls coal. There are other problems too i dont know what motors in it what imean by that is it the lb7 or what how can i check that or if you guys know what the 03 has in it that would be great. For miles i have is 299xxx miles on it which i dont think that alot for a diesel i have seen cummins with 500xxx miles on them and still run fine. But hey thanks for taking your time and reading this i love the diesel world.

| Sounds like you will need injectors. And you have a lb7 Lb7 01-04 Lly 04.5-06 Lbz 06-07 Lmm 07.5-10 Lml 11 to current

| i mean it doesnt smoke bad bad but when you romp on it its rolls some coal out of the exhaust.

| I would try to get the repair history on it Id be willing to bet its on its second set of injectors and Is getting ready for the third set unless its been chip'd and you just dont know it mine barely smokes at all with the stock tune in it . oh and its def an LB7

| Do you know when it needs an oil change? You can check to see if there is diesel in the crankcase. If so, you need injectors.

| Diesel in the oil reduces the viscosity of your oil which is a bad thing. Someone else can probably give you a better idea on cost than I can.

| As far as if the injectors are bad, the truck will run much better if they were fixed, as far as if it will hurt the vehicle more than just the injectors without the injectors being fixed i cant answer for you. gluck with the truck. oh and since this seems to be your introduction we always like to see pics of the truck if you can post them up for us.
