Sold H2 and Cummins

While going to Dumont this Thanksgiving, I was caravaning with two buddies(fully loaded toyhaulers), one had a Chevy 2001 dually diesel 4X4, the other had a 2006 duramax allison 6 speed 4X4, I was pulling with my 2002 Dodge cummins that had a few mods, well it was safe to say that on that very trip, I decided that I hated my Dodge. The two Chevys pulled me and they waited on top of every hill, I was soon converted from cummins to DURAMAX. I now found my sweet gem on a lot in a tiny farm town. It was a 2006 Duramax 4X4 shortbed with the allison 6 with a remarkable 4,400 miles on it. It was one of those stories, "the owner had several cars, and was in jail for the last 2 years.....blah blah blah" I sold my Dodge to a buddy who had to have it and traded in my recently paid off Hummer H2. Everyone thinking that I was crazy for giving up both my trucks for one, but I was soon praised for my decision(after lift, wheels, tires, and tv's). I now have the truck that I feel, can't be topped. Now I am on the info search for future mods and help with a few technical questions.

First I need to add tow/helper bags, but am curious on how to do it with a 6" lift. 2nd exhaust, a freind of mine had a really nice 4" turbo back exhaust made but kept the cat(for some reason, mabey smog fears but he has an 06???) and is constantly throwing codes. I am really enjoying the quetness of the Duramax after coming from a cummings with a 4" straight exhaust with no muffler. I am not sure which way I am going to go, 4", 5", cat back or turbo back? Then the usuals intake(which brand?) Gauges(was hoping to find something trick, I am looking for an Edge with attitude type gauge, but not really interested in "chipping") Switching to synthetic in trans and pumpkins(which brand?) and Mag-Hytech cover. And was looking for a trick way to mount a GPS system in one of my blank spots. The search is on......Any suggestions are eagerly welcomed.

The bags, I have looked in to using those aswell. From what I hear they help out quite abit. I think the bags will work fine with a lift. I work at a stealership, that is combined with ford, and see a lot super duties with lifts, and bags. Exhaust, it is all preference. I am running 5" straight pipe on my 07 classic. Originally bought it as an mbrp 5" turbo back system. Then found out about the finger stick, and blocker plate. This prevents throwing codes with an intake, and exhaust. Might tell your buddy about this so he will not throw any codes. kennedydiesel.com you can find both of these prducts, also have good install instructions. Straight pipe you will get a little more power, faster turbo spool, but at freeway speeds you get a gasser big block type of rumble, you might not want that. It does not bother me, I like it. Intake go with afe stage 2, or the s&b. Or you could just do the cai mod to your stock intake. This can be found at ppe.com. If you want the easy in cab guage/adjustability the edge juice with attitude is nice. I looked in to that, but decided to go a different route. Currently I am running a diablo sport on the maximum setting, and going to run guages, and upgrade to either ppe hot +2, or efi live. Fluids, go with either stanadyne or amsoil. I am running amsoil in my trans. since I had a trans go jr shift kit installed by diesel nut motorsports. Also to add don't go too much power with your stock trans. It's only rated for an additional 100-140hp over stock. That is why I did the shift kit for now, until I can afford to more trans upgrades.

Wow, that is a lot to take in, I'll start my research, Thanks. As far as the Edge Juice with attitude, I want that type of gauge, but not the engine computer upgrades. I would like to moniter trans, EGT, and boost. I was hoping to find a single gauge for all, if not I'll just get good-ole Autometer with some sort of pillar mount. Hey I'll tell my buddy about the fingerstick(whatever that is???) Thanks again Keep the info flowing!

if you want the best electronical gauge then go with the Quadzilla Commander Quadzilla and the best thing is you don't need to run any sort of extra HP tuning with it.
CAI=AFE ,S&B or the PPE CAI Mod
Exhaust=MBRP or Silverline and then do the fingerstick and EGR block plate.
Oil=Amsoil or Mobil1,i've run both and i've been very impressed with both products.
CAI=Cold Air Intake
