I just want to say hello and thanks for all the useful info. I just purchased a 05 lly crew abought 3 weeks ago. I have spent a good amount of time reading posts trying to decide what kind of upgrades I wanted. I ordered a PPE HOT +2 programmer, AFE STAGE 2 INTAKE, MBRP stainless EXHAUST Duals, EGR BLOCK PLATE, Autometer PYRO AND BOOST GAUGES. I am currently running 18" wheels with 285's any advice is welcomed and appreciated. I am new to the diesel performance world and I made my performance decisions based on a combination of these forums and what i read in magazines versus what I want out of the truck, Witch is a truck that runs better then a vet but can still go to work on monday and tow my 10,000LB boat on saturday!! Thanks Jason

welcome to the forum..it sounds like you know what your doing..the one thing to remeber if you want to keep your stock tranny for a good while keep the PPE limmited to level 3 or lower if not plan on a tranny upgrade.

Dont exactly know the benefits of my EGR block plate yet, as I have not installed mine probably this weekend. From what I have read its a good idea to install one to keep the soot out of your turbo. For $14.00 bucks I figured it was worth a try!

thats the whole reason why to do it..

I plan on upgrading my tranny in the spring probably with something from suncoast I think. Till then I will try to keep it on 3. My only concern is it defueling for shifts I know thats needed to keep the stock tranny from slipping but it seems like it would make the shifts weird (slow). I just have to get everything in and start experimenting!! Thanks for the response!
Where did you get this egr block plate and how long/difficult to put in?

take some pentrating oil(do it a couple of times the next day or so)and spray the bolts on the EGR so that when you go to take them off it isn't quite as hard.

Thanks for the advice! I am going to install the EGR block plate this weekend.
