Welcome, I live over in Madras. For what you want to do, a few basic things will greatly help your truck both in performance, longivity, mpg. First, do the LBZ mouth piece mod, it will make a world of difference in the truck's performance. Put on an after market exhaust, I'd get rid of the cat too but it's a personal preference. Add a exhaust temp gauge. Very important to see what the exhaust temps are, even on a stock truck. Since you are not going to do too much to your truck, I'd get a good tuner, one that will add some power but increase you fuel economy, it's been along time since I ran a tuner, (I use EFI live) so someone who has the lastest knowledge of them will have to chime in. With these mods your truck will run cooler, fan won't come on near as often and you will be much happier. I did these mods to a friends truck, (he also drives like a little old lady) and he gets up to 14mpg towing his 34' Montana 5th wheel. Good luck
Thanks, Subman, for the input. What do you (or others on this forum) think the AFE cast aluminum turbo inlet? Yeah it's not cheap but looks good and easy fit. Anybody replaced their LBZ mod with the AFE and have a comparison between the two?

I am not familiar with the AFE cast turbo inlet, but if it is as large or larger than the LBZ one then it will work fine.
