Thanks for all the replies everyone . Whichever way I go, I'll have the truck within the next month and I'll keep you guys posted.

Here's my current truck. Dodge Ram 1500 HEMI At least it looks good? Maybe?

It looks good. I will say, as you have eluded to, once you have a diesel, it is hard to consider another gas truck unless for financial obligations.

I have an LMM Duramax and the whole DPF thing is way over rated...it is simple to eliminate it and with one of the correct tuners, you will never have to worry about any negative side effects. Some, includeing the one i bought disable the egr valve as well which is very healthy for the engine. I have never owned a Power Stroke but only know what i have heard and read. From what i have gathered, as already covered, steer clear of the 6.0 reguardless. The 6.4 has been said to have a solid transmission and the new 6.7 has been rumored to have even better of a trans but the motor is still in question, although there is alot of hype surrounding it. The 6.4 has had some issues but i think it panned out to be better than the 6.0 The 6.4 responds well to mods such as tunes but like i said, it has issues and usually are magnified with more power. It seems the 6.4 will not hold together for long without head studs which are costly when combined with the labor. I love the look of the Ford as many do but my honest opinion is the Duramax powered trucks are more reliable, dont need as much as the Fords to stay that way, and have a very satisfactory ammount of power as well. The nbs hangs in there visually with the Fords since they have been beefed up and the interior saw great improvements too. My advise is buy the nbs Duramax and delete the DPF with a good tuner or EFI Live and you will not be disapointed.

I have talked to several people about the 6.4s...they either love them and never break or they hate them and are allways in the shop fighting warranty issues. Radiators seem to be a sore subject with the 6.4s.

Ive also talked to several folks about the DPF duramaxs ( i was going to buy one but liked the LBZ better) and they love them. Drive them and choose one. I had a 7.3 that was almost paid for, i should have kept that. but i love my truck.
