Howdy from a new guy

Howdy all,

I live in North Carolina and I am deployed at the moment till the end of the year. I am looking at getting a 2006 or 2007 2500HD 4x4 crew cab with the LBZ Duramax. Hope to talk and meet some of you when I get home.

Nice to hear from a fellow service member. I am retired Air Force. We did a lot of work with the Army at Pope. I used to be a C-17 mechanic. Welcome to the forum. I just bought a 08 LMM. Love it! I'm looking forward to many years with. I had my last 6.0 gasser for 8.5 years with no problems. Hopefully I will make out as well with this one.

Oh to let you guys know what I am thinking for my Duramax when I get it. I am going to get an AFE Stage II Air Intake System, 4 Inch Cat Back COOL DUALS Exhaust System with front pipe to make it a turbo back exhaust. The a vavle body for the Allison and the PPE HOT Xcelerator. If I am leaving anything out guys please help. As I am running what I listed I will be saving up for a Suncoast Allison.

Well as I am typing this the wife asked if I am getting back in 2009 why dont I just find a used 2008. LOL I did all my research for the 2006-2007 LBZ, can I still run the same things that I was going to on the LMM that I was on the LBZ. Any info on the big differences between the LBZ and the LMM please chime in. I read somewhere that the LBZ can put out more power then the LMM with the same mods. Any help would be great, for this will be my first diesel and I want to do it right the first time.

thank you for all your help.

the LBZ and LMM are the same engine except the LMM has all the new emmision stuff on it so you have to delete that in order to get a bunch of HP out of them safely.
