Welcome Tim, and thanks for your service (USMC)..

First, if your using the oiled k&n air filter, replace it with a dry element, the AcDelco has been shown in tests to filter, and flow the best.

You want to be careful with tuners / programmerz. The Alli wasn't built to take much more than 400 hp, or 700 ft lbs. of tourqe. Even with lower hp & tq. #'s if abused, i.e. run real hard can still limp the tranny, the C3 clutches, and the tourqe converter are the weak links. Having said that, I'd say stay 100 hp and below if you want the tranny to stay alive.

If you wanted to upgrade the tranny, to say a SC stage III, then you could get away with about 500 hp..

For the lower hp tuners look at the PPE Econo tuner 120 hp @ the crank, runs about 350.00, I believe it has 3 power levels, not the cheapest tuner out there, but has great driveabilty, and PPE has great customer service.

Just make sure that if you choose to buy used, that the tuner isn't "vin locked". Good luck, and enjoy the LB7..

Welcome Tim!

now, like posted, keep it under 100hp for the trans sake. Want more, suncost isthe way to go. I disagree on the stg III, go Stg IV and be done with. Build it right once.

Tuners, Ok, cost effective, Diablosport. Great tunes for the money. Want big power? PPE all the way. The lower level PPE can be upgraded for fee, so don't shy away from them if you are going conservative.

Like posted, getridofthat K&N. Too much dirt gets let in.

And thank you for your service!!!
