I finally got enough cash to get out of gas trucks and into a diesel. I don't pull much wieght but I really want to make this truck somewhat as bad @$$ as I can. What are some good upgrades I can do? I Have a 2001 chevy crew lb7. I want to put a bigger exhaust on it but someone told me if you do that you need to put a bigger wastegate and a bunch of other stuff on it. I also would like to put a chip in it but unsure what one is the best bang for your buck. I was going to go with all Banks stuff to be safe but if I can get something better cheaper that would be great. Can I get some help!!! (I have alot of questions) Thanks Ryan
Welcome to the form. A good brand of exhaust is Siverline or
MBRP. You do not modify wastegate. I have Edge/wAttiude which is nice because it has gauges and safegaurds with it
and it gives me enough power to smoke some powerstrokes.
Diablo Predator programmers have a good price and I've heard good things about them but then you would need to buy pillar mounted gauges. Also PPE programmers give you tons of power but I don't know much about them. Banks products are expensive if you buy a kit. Other people on the form will probably post.

To the DF. You dont need to change anything to put bigger exhaust on your truck. As Extreme said Silver line, MPRB, and even bullydog are good exhaust. But if you want big and mean looking then look at the stack kits. As for programmers everyone has there own opinion on whats the best. Me personally I like the Edge juice/attitude because it has some safety features to help keep you from doing a total melt down of your trans. if you use it responsibly plus it comes with the gages you need to keep an eye on things.

The cheapest I can find a edge juice with attitude is $719, I found a banks 6 gun w/pda for $863 would i be better off paying the $150 more for the banks.
The Edge and the Banks run the quarter mile about the same as seen on the Banks Power website. The Edge blows more smoke which is cool. But Banks has a nice touch screen display. I think it is personal preference.I like my Edge!

This truck also for some reason came without a block heater. I live in central wisconsin where right now is -11. The truck still starts but should I get a heater on it to help it out. I asked the salesman why there is not one and the reponse I got was they blend it so you don't need one. I don't know why they wouldn't explain this stuff to the sales people before they give crap answers like that.
Are you sure you dont have a heater? Look on the passenger side down on the inner finder it should be tied up with zip ties to the bat. cable. You will have to look close or you will miss it.

Yup, look closer for it. I didn't think my truck came with one either but it's there. Passanger side inner fender under all the hoses. My truck was a local trade and it was never used. It gets -30 here.
