Newbie intro

I have made a couple posts on here, so I guess I should go ahead and introduce myself.

My name is Stephen Cruikshank. I am 24 and hail from Beaufort, SC. I have a wife and a 2 1/2 year old son. I own a distribution company and Saturday March 1st, bought my first diesel. It's a 2008 Chevy Silverado C/C D-max LT2. I love it. I complicated HEAVILY over getting a diesel. I know they are more expensive off the get, but I will be saving over $4,000/year just in fuel, let alone the long term advantages. It is currently back at the dealership to get a spray-in bed liner.

I drive about 125 miles a day, 5 days a week towing about 9,000 lbs of stuff in a 24' haulmark trailer. I drove the truck for 500 miles before I towed and my first day with it I got 12.7 MPG according to the DIC. Can't wait to see what kind of MPG I will be getting after the "break-in" period!!!

congrats on the new truck!! A little tuning will get you a few more MPG which traveling the amount of miles you do, would accumualate to a good amount of money saved in a years time.

PPE, if you read up on here you will see an average of 2-3 more MPG with a ppe programmer. If you go that route I would recomend a EGT gauge since you tow alot just to be on the safe side.

Hello,

I am new to the forum and wanted to say hello to everyone. I own a 07 GMC 2500 C/C Duramax, and just ordered a PPE programmer.

welcome to DF...check your fuel economy by hand instead of going off the DIC,that is the most accurate way to do it.for programmer look at the PPE,ATS or EFILive for tuning.gauges are a must also.
