| Almost a 2 year diesel owner.... but now its time to do something with my truck. I am finally going to get started on beefing up my truck and hopefully you guys are the ones to help me!!! I was the excited proud owner of a brand new 2500HD SLT the end of June in 2006. I told my self that I would wait until the motor had at least 25,000 mi. on it to break it in before I started to do anything to it. Now that I have finnaly hit the mileage it is time to upgrade and make some power, and get better mileage. I am pretty mechanically inclined but I have little to no knowledge of diesels and everything a person can do to them. I am looking forward to learning from all you duramasters. |

| I would do a exhaust atleast 4". Straight pipe if you dont mind the little extra noise. Then find a tuner or chip that meets you needs. There alot of good ones out there you just have to know what you want to do with the truck.

| Welcome Aboard!! There are alot of things you can do for not alot of money. I would definately start with 4" exhaust and then maybe a tuner or intake. Although the factory intake is fairly good, if your going with a tuner, IMO I would change the intake also.

| WELCOME to the FORUM...there is tons of info avalible here..
some ideas, first off start with a 4" or 5" exhaust from either MBRP or Silverline and then do a programmer from either Diablo,Quadzilla,ATS E-Power,PPE or EFILive and then if you want to invest into a CAI go with either AFE or Volant but that is not a must but i would highly recommend doing gauges to keep an eye on EGT temps and boost.with the programmer and exhaust that should gain you roughly 3-5MPG.i run the PPE and have gained 3-4 on 2 of my duramax's.hope this helps
PS don't add more then 80-90RWHP or level 3 on the PPE programmers on a stock tranny.
