Welcome to the DF...
8th Vin #1-LB7 300 hp
8th Vin #2-04.5-05 LLY 310hp autos only, 300 hp manual trans and 4500/5500
8th Vin #3-06 LLY ratings are the same as vin 2
8th vin #D-LBZ 360 hp auto only, not an option in manual trans or 4500/5500 trucks>
8th Vin #6-LMM 365 hp
The LB7 is the king of fuel mileage but has injector trouble but its the easiest to mod. The 04.5 LLY had some overheat probs when pulling heavy loads. After that the D-Max had very few probs until the EPA enforced the DPF on them.

Bosch was supposed to have fixed the prob..But you never know...Mine lost its first set at 130thou. And if I can get that out of this set Ill be happy. The thing that kills them is dirty fuel. GM has a 7yr 200thou warranty on them. for the LB7 and I do beleave that they did a warranty on the LLY as well.

(My personal opinion)

I would try to get a LBZ if I were you. But if you want good mileage, go with the LB7 and just don't think about the injectors. Who doesn't want great mileage?

i'm getting better mpg's on my lb7 then my friend with a lly that has an edge, missising kitty, and k&n filter. i just spent 35 bucks on my upgrades so far and i'm getting about 20.5 on the freeway and about 17.5 in town.

I bought my lbz used with 33 thousand on it. I love it but when i got it i wasnt even getting 16 on the highway. I got like 10.5 in town. I did a PPE airbox mod and superchips flashpaq and now im getting 14 in town and like 18 or 19 on the highway. I love it other than though. Getting the mileage that xrobx24s getting would be pretty nice.
(could be the 285s i put on thats hurtin the mileage.)
