hello, i started my lly with one battery(driver side) by accident the other day. my truck started then shut off. i try to start it again with both battery on but the engine will crank but won't start. do you guy might now what I've broken in my truck?
Can you test the batteries? You may have killed that bad boy and now not have enough in the 2nd one to turn it back over. Also, have you checked all your fuses?
both battery are bran new, all fuses checked out good. i left the key forward for 30 minutes also to rest set the theft system and nothing. the engine cranks it just doesn't want to turn on. i also pump the fuel filter by hand. what I'm going to do next is disconnect both battery for an hour and swap them from there position. do you have any idea or suggestion what i should do? do you think i burnt out a computer?
I wouldn't think so...but i am no mechanic. When you pump that fuel filter how hard is it getting? Like so hard you can barely push it down or just until it gets firm? Have you burped it (opened the bleed screw).
FWIW: I would suggest you add your trucks details (year/model/etc) to your sig, or at least to the post, and repost it to the appropriate forum. You will get more feedback from the group than you will here in introductions.
Sounds like you need to reset your anti theft, I dont see what year tuck you have, google search vats or passlock reset. Takes about 30 min to complete..
Not that i am suggesting it is the same thing (no hammer in search of a nail) but since you already went that direction, lets make sure we have a good prime.
the primer gets hard after a few pumps. i did replace the old assembly because it would leak from the assembly. i am going to get the battery tested just incase i did burn out the battery.
so i found out the problem. when i started the truck with one battery it damaged the FICM. at first i thought it was a short in the wire because i kept blowing up the EDU fuse. i did some research and found out the EDU fuse is for the FICM. I read that there is a test that can be preformed to determined if the fuse is being blown because there is a short in the wire harness or the FICM is damage. i disconnected the FICM and put a new EDU fuse, i put the key forward. there are two possible out comes to this test. the first outcome is if the fuse blows again that means there is a short in the wire harness, if the fuse does not blow the FICM is bad and must be replaced. i ordered a new FICM from pensacola fuel injection for $249 and it comes with free shipping, not bad compared to other prices. i haven't received the product yet, but ill post a update to the out come of the product. link is listed below for the part
Welcome man. Hope you get your issue sorted out quickly!
