newbie 04 sierra 2500hd owner

I am new to diesel. Drove all 3 brands and decided on Duramax for dependablity, ride and other things. I am an ER nurse planning on doing travel assignments soon. Assignments are usually 13 weeks then you can decide to extend or move to a new location. I am in Texas but am planning on visiting the west coast and Arizona to see different scenery. I have a lot to learn as all I have ever pulled before is a 16' flat bed and a 14' stock trailer. Neither had trailer brakes. I have never pulled a TT but am looking at a 31' ultralite. My wife and I will live in the trailer at least 3 months at a time and plan to take excursions on days off. On top of advice on Dmax and pulling I am interested in sites to visit in Arizona and California. Have enjoyed reading forum so far and hope one day to have enough knowledge to share

I would buy a fifth wheel. Easier to haul etc..check into it before buying a TT. Sounds like a nice adventure. How long are you going to do this?

i have towed a few different trailers and after you tow with a gooseneck/5TH wheel you'll hate towing a bumper pull trailer..

Welcome to the site!! Sounds like you will be doing quite a bit of traveling. You will love the Duramax. When you get time you can do some performance mods and make it a whole lot more fun
