HI folks! I have 2007.5 LMM w/ just 16.5k miles. I tow a 37' 5th wheel, but I also had it converted to SVO. I'm not experienced enough nor educated enough to do that conversion so I paid some smart guys in Ohio to do it. My learning curve is still pretty steep on the diesel stuff and the veggie oil stuff. I learned that when you change the fuel filter, make sure you tighten the bleed screw. Same thing when you drain the sediment bowl on the veggie oil filters. Sucked a bunch of air into the fuel line and limped around for a bit before I figured it out. So now a confession. The newbie hasn't changed the tranny filter yet (supposed to be done at 5k). Any tips on this? I've put about 5k on it since my conversion, so if anyone has any questions about doing the conversion, give a shout. Also, if anyone else has converted, I'd love to hear from you as well. Thanks Folks! (not sure if there are any gals here, so I'll keep it gender neutral!)

Hello all,
I've got about 5k miles running the veggie. It's tough to tell because I start and end my trips on diesel. The veggie oil is heated by the engine cooling system. We tapped into the coolant lines and run the coolant through a loop in the bottom of the 60 gal oil tanks in the bed of the truck. Once the engine gets to operating temp (about 180 deg) I flip the switch and we're cruisin' on semi-free fuel! I tow a 2009 Cameo 37' 5th wheel ( 13-14k lbs) with no noticable loss of power. Aa I stated earlier, I'm new to diesel and veggie, but I can't really notice a difference between the two performance-wise. I haven't run it in winter or colder temps yet, so time will tell on that issue. We plan on heading south for the majority of the winter so I don't plan on finding out what happens to it in sub-zero temps! I'm retired Air Force so I have that freedom.
Thanks for the tips on the tranny filter. I'll make sure I don't throw out the magnet with the old filter. Any other tips?
