NuB-Al in Iowa

I'm new to the Duramax scene with my White 06' Gmc SLT 6.6 A1000 CC SB , Have a 82' K30 that had a 6.2 in it.

I have a Diablo Sport that I called to see about getting it reprogrammed from the LS2 6.0 Corvette/GTO set up to a LBZ 6.6 diesel, said they couldn't(or wouldn't)be done-sell it buy a new 1.

I guess before I ordered my Edge juice w/attitude, I should have registered & done few searches. I get the impression I F'd up on my first purchase.
So the nice package of programmer/guages in 1 was a bad choice? PPe was 1 of my first choices, but was told I would be into my tranny before long because of the gains in hp/torq you get.?

I've also got a K/N cone filter element(part#????)that I was going to make my own cold air intake. I 've since been told that K/N isn't really well received in the diesel market, is this true?????

4" exhaust
Stainless Steel (304) Exhaust muffler - Flowmaster, MBRP, Magnaflow, Borla ........???????????

Welcome to the site!!!

Alot of people like the edge, so don't feel too bad about your purchase. Edge has great customer service so if you have any problems they will take care of you.

For the air filter the K&N has been known to mess with the maf sensor and they let a little too much dirt through. The stock airbox is actually really good on the LBZ so if your not going for extreme HP i would just leave it alone.

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome, where's my Edge control hit the wall(hp/torq)?
What would be the upper limit for the stock air box?, especially since a aFe2 is over $400.
stock is good if the limit is around 400rwhp?, & EGT's aren't benefitted by a cold air kit?

The stock air box is good unless you are going for more than 500 RWHP. Your EGTs will benifit some by a CAI but you can get the same gains by modifing you stock air box and removing the foil from the inside of your fender.

I am not sure what the HP and Torq ratings are on the edge, but i do know that you don't want to go over a 90 HP increase on the stock tranny. Anything over that is putting you in the danger zone and had better start saving for a Suncoast Kit. Since you have the 6 speed you can do the Transgo Jr shift kit that will give you a little extra holding power for maybe 100-120 Hp.
