Welcome to the site!!!

The only thing you really have to do is keep the oil, oil filter, tranny spin on filter and oil, and fuel filter changed at proper intervals. There really is no major maintance items to do at any certain mileage.

I like to change my oil and filter at 10000 miles, tranny oil and spin on at 20000 miles and the fuel filter every 7000-10000 miles.

Any gm dealer should be able to run your vin to see what warranty items have been worked on. If you are wanting a history of owners and accidents i suggest using carfax.

For the tranny filter get the acually allison brand filter. and yes it is the one under the tranny, the little red one. I run amsoil sythetic in the engine and tranny, but the tranny calls for dextron IV.

I have been running rotella in mine since brand new. I have over 200,000 on my truck with no problems. Welcome to the site and congrats on the purchase.

I should have clearified that a little better. I run the Amsoil 15w-40 Diesel and marin oil in the engine and the amsiol synthetic ATF fluid in the tranny. The engine takes 10 qts and the tranny will take 7.7 for the fluid in the pan and spin on.
