Just got my first Duramax Diesel, a 2005 LLY powered 3500 4x4. I'm using it to haul my tractors and mowers. I've had Ford, Mercedes, Cummins, and Deutz diesels. I'm hopeing this Duramax will be my best diesel experience. I picked a Duramax over Cummins and International for the fuel economy and the Allison, But I still have a BT4 powered tractor and LOVE IT! I don't plan on leaving the new truck stock for too long, I love power of turbo diesels and want to improve the mileage.
I'm planning on getting a modified turbo intake pipe to loose the lly restriction, getting a tuner (PPE?), exhaust, intake, and reinstalling the Isspro pyro, trans temp and boost gauges I took out of my Ford 6.0 I traded in for the Duramax.
Congrats on the new truck and welcome to the forum!!! You'll love the Duramax and the power it can produce. Do some reading on the mods you can do with your truck, the list is pretty much endless.
