Smile 08 c4500 Upgrade trans cooler

Ive seen in the past c4500/5500 owners have done trans cooler upgrades. Cant seem to find the posts and or any info. looking to replace my stock cooler behind my grill for somthing huge pulling 12+ tons with this truck in summer in AZ gets to be a game.

Truck is a 2wd 4door running 11r 22.5 and supper singles in the rear. aprox 180k on powertrain.

Upgrading trans cooler

Sounds like you want to parrellel off of the factory points and add another cooler with solinode and a pump? How hot does the oil get? Maybe upsize your lines from the trans?

Well I was reading a thread awhile back and guys were installing huge trans cooler in place of their stocker. The website had many sizes of universal fit units

I have never seen mines get over 200* and I pull 9000 lb trailer with 18,000 lbs of equipment sometimes. I take my time and dont mash it.

mine will heat up a little with load and traffic 40 foot trailer with loads up to 15 to 20 thousands pounds 07 crew cab GMC Top Kick
