Oil change light

The change oil light just came on in my 2002 2500hd. I just changed the oil about 2000 miles ago. Is it based on mileage or by the oil thickness? How do you reset the system to make the light go out? Any help would be great, I don't have a manual for this truck.

I believe it goes by hours and rpm? I've heard they're pretty accurate. I'm trying to remember on my '06 I think it was turn the key on to the acessory position and depress the gas pedal 2x but that was a gas, not sure if its different on your 02.

Garage
You'll know it has been reset if the battery light/symbol flashes. Fire her up and roll down the road.
