Transfer case fluid level

Where should the oil level be in the Transfer case in relation to the fill plug if that is where you check it?

Not changing it right now just want to make sure it is full.

And also, how to tell what case you have to know the capacity when re-filling?

Thanks

Really, know one knows? Or is just too stupid of a question to ask?

I would hate to think that I would have to drain and refill just to know if it has enough fluid in it.

What he said^^^^. Helps to have an piece of hose to put on the tranny fluid bottle since a frame member is in the way of the fill hole. Pretty easy deal.

If you are using dex 6 2 quarts. 5w-30 synthetic 3 quarts through the speed sensor hole.

do not put 3 quarts of dex 6 through the speed sensor hole. you will get foaming issues

Recommended - Transfer Case Fluid Change to 5W-30 synthetic motor
