Good question. The wix filter uses a cellulose filter element where AMSOIL EaO oil filter uses a synthetic nanofiber element. This nanofiber traps and holds particles better than cellulose and because of this can maintain a 98.7% filtering capability down to 20 microns. I'm not to sure what kind of element ac delco uses, and how much Microns it is.

The AMSOIL EaO Oil filter is going to be a better filter. If you take a look at the link here, the AMSOIL oil filter has a higher filter rating over an AC Delco. Also the EaO has less restriction over other filters because of the synthetic nanofiber filter material.

The AC Delco filter is a 43 micron filter and as Willie says above the EAO is 20 microns. GM says that the AC Delco is good enough for the Dmax but its not good enough for my Dmax. I run the Amsoil EAO and the synthetic diesel oil for 15k mile oil changes.
