Hastings Fuel Filter

Anyone tried running a Hastings filter? I went and priced one the other day, about 37$. I like how it looks and feels - Nice and sturdy and dense. All the other filters I looked at were light and had plastic threads. I've heard AC Delco is the best one to use for the LLY though?

I use the AC Delco unit myself, in my LB7. Haven't used the Hastings myself.

I think there is a Racor filter that is cheaper and identical to the AC Delco. like $29

When I run out of the fuel filters I have I'm going to get the Nicktane adapter and go with the CAT 2 micron filters.

What are the specs on the Hastings ?

Brutha', I would go right to Nicktane to find out. I'm not sure. I haven't gotten that far yet myself..Lol... I still have 2 or 3 of the NAPA Gold's left in my garage. I'm going to use them up first..

madjacksynthetics.com - they have the Nicktane adaptor and filters. I just put one on my truck this last week. Filters at the local cat dealer are $14.98. It will pay for itself in almost no time.

Hastings is owned by Baldwin. I believe the filters are the same other than the paint color. I used to run Hastings filters all of the time with no problems. I now run Cat filters.

I have a Hastings in mine right now, probably the 3rd one I've put in with no problems. I either use a napa gold or the Hastings. $5 price difference i believe.
