DIC and oil life

'09 Silverado LTZ with 36,000 miles, and suddenly the DIC is telling me that the oil life is down to 0% after about 1,000 miles. Changed oil, now, after about 100 miles, DIC is telling me oil life is down to 40%. What's up with this???

I would get an oil sample sent out to a lab to ensure nothing major. My oil meter shoots down too. Its usually do to the dpf regen cyles getting closer and closer together.

I did reset the DIC, and this is the second time in a row this has happened, so I'm thinking there might be an issue in the ECM if that's where the DIC display for the oil life comes from. The truck has not been used heavily at all. No towing to speak of; towed an eighteen foot cargo hauler a couple of times. Truck is used on pavement, so no big issues with dust like if it was used on a farm or ranch. Anyway, going to the dealer on the fifth of March. We'll see what they say. Edit: First post should read an '09 LMM.

Why would the regen cycles be getting closer together? Do you need a new DPF?

I think my truck is getting to that point. I do see the oil life meter drop after every regen. I think its 12%.
I do believe short trips are bad for these new emmision trucks. The truck produces alot of exhaust heat in regen mode and needs to run 15 to 20 minutes continous to clean out.
I recently bought an Edge Display to read EGTs and Regen status. My truck's EGTs are go up to 1250 in regen.

Id say its going into regen mode way too often. The DPF could be plugged, cranked, or a sensor(s) has gone out.
