I will probably get it then. A lot of guys seem to have them, so they must be worth something.

Hey man, sorry haven't been on a lot lately. I have heard that they are great for lowering EGT's and make the sound a lot meaner too as well as helping your mileage due to better exhaust flow. I don't have one but I would get one if they were easier to install. I would get one in a second for free install. Diamond eye and MBRP make good ones I think. Let me know how it goes....

If the techs set the truck to regenerate while sitting in their lot, then after a few min when the engine really gets revving high they will smell it. Mine was defintely during regen. If you are thinking about removing the DPF, then you may not have the problem.

I did get it fixed. It was the downpipe. Also they fixed it under warantee, just took getting the right tech. Evidently there are only a few diesel techs in the area and it took getting the right guy. Many dealerships here claim they can fix diesels, but don't really know what to do. I now go to a cadillac dealership because they have a diesel tech that used to work for a chevy dealer. I just happened to stumble across his name from one of my customers.

Hey man, did you ever get the downpipe issue resolved? Did they fix in under warranty? Just curious.

Got a question for you. I'm sitting in the dealership service garage with the techs and they can't find the service bulletin for the turbo down pipe. Ihave the same exhaust smell through the air vents during regen. Sucks they said they can't do anything without a service bulletin. Do you happen to have the bulletin number that solved your problem?

    Thanks!
