Sorry for the late reply, I have no idea how to see if I have a message, I keep stumbling on to some page that shows me your message and I don't know how to get back to it...anyway I'm sure Steve would help you out, he's a really good guy and smart. I don't race or pull with my truck, it's more of a highway truck for pulling trailers full of toys but I don't want to be limited by a trans if I DO want to race or pull for fun, I have raced at the diesel event they hold at castrol but its been a while due the transmission problems I've ran into with the big tunes. I'll definitely race it this year now that I have this trans, I can't wait, Steve figures low 12's, his son tweaked the efi live tune I had and made the truck stronger than ever. I think Steve would be upset if I didn't race it.

    Hi Chriskul,

Thanks for the reply, I am wanting or at least thinking about building my son's tranny. We have the Mike L convertor, shift kit and pressure valve. I still need the steels and clutches soon and was really looking for a local source that might be reasonable cost wise. It would also be great to have someone local to pick his brain if things aren't going right. We aren't into racing the truck but my son definitely wants to juice it up some more. I have EFI tunes in it up to 100 hp from Idaho Rob. Are you racing/pulling with your truck? Do you think Steve might be receptive to my plan?

Hey Roy, a bit of back story...I purchased a brand new "high performance" trans from BD and I burned it up in three days, they said they would warranty it but what's the point if it can't hold the power. So I asked around and was told this guy could build the best trans around. Search this " steve commercial powertrain ". He builds race trannys for a lot of people, he changes shafts and all other kinds of internal parts, I don't know transmissions so I can't name the parts but he walked me through his shop and showed me what goes into his then showed me what the other guys use (he has ATS and Suncoast parts all over the floor) and I have no doubts that it is the best trans for the money...$7700 installed with a torque convertor and tested HARD before you get it back, it was the same cost for the one I burned up in 3 days, wouldn't hurt to call and talk to him... 403-651-6921 he works out of his house, great guy, I wish I would of known about him years ago!
