I'm from Canada too. Anyone in Canada buy their 0-7.5 or 08 Duramax in the states? If so is your warranty a US or Canadian Warranty? I have a dealer in the US who wants to sell me a GM factory bumper to bumper extended warranty for half of what I can get it locally. He assures me it will be valid but I'm not convinced. Anyone have any answers?
I'm sure there's more Diesel Pickups than cars up here in Northern B.C. which is nice, lot's of competition, in the sea of lifted ford's and dodge's my D-max sure stands out though. not to many like it up here.

How many people would be interested in a monthly Get Together (GTG) to be hosted by various forum members in Calgary?
I think it would be a great idea to get a few enthusiasts together to chat about our trucks, learn how to perform some basic maintenance, eat, drink and otherwise have a relaxing time.
Personally, I find it fun to learn new things about my truck and get dirty from time to time. I'm a pencil pusher by day, so it's a treat to be able to put on a pair of coveralls and get dirty while tinkering under the hood.
I'm guessing there are a few folks out there who would benefit from the knowledge of others. Perhaps we can host a new subject with each new meeting - such as fuel filters. Some lucky person could offer their truck up as a guinea pig for maintenance while we all learn how to perform the job for our own trucks. If we feel very ambitious I can see this developing into more comprehensive jobs like exhaust systems, intakes, or even transmission upgrades.
Let me know if there is any interest out there.
The days are getting short and the weather is not the greatest any more, so perhaps this is something to consider for next spring...unless there are enough people out there with heated garages .

Love this truck....HATE the fuel economy yea yea, I know it's a truck, and YES I want the same mpg as a Civic
Hello to fello albertans with duramax's, any of you guys tired of bad fuel eco yet ? i am
YES. Sometimes I wonder if we have substandard diesel.
I can reach up to 14 in the city during the summer months. That figure plummets to 12 or less in the winter !
On the bright side my highway mileage is 20, which I feel is pretty decent.
