The winter diesel is affected by the additives they put in to stop it from gelling in cold temperatures. I know I really notice it if I have winter diesel left over in the spring and use it in my tractor for cultivation. Less power and I get way less hours from a tank as well. You'd think they could come up with something that doesn't affect the fuel's performance.

I'm just north of Edmonton. Where did you buy your truck and is the dealer ok with the changes you've made or have you checked? Where did you get your modifications done? I would love to get that kind of mileage!

That is friggin' fantastic
Most of us have a hard time believing numbers like that. I'm jealous as hell
I think I'll be pulling the trigger on an exhaust system soon. If I can see an extra 1-2 mpg I'll be thrilled. I don't know how you do it?!

Where exactly is "the ranch"?
I'm guessing you're not hurting for space?
I'd be interested in hosting a small group as well. Only problem is I have a small garage and the drive way. The days are getting colder so I could host the first Spring 2009 session.
Anyone else interested? Come on guys. Speak up!
My truck is due for tranny oil and spin on. There has to be some newbies out there who could benefit from the community...I know I could.

i got the truck from salt lake city and it was flat towed as far as lethbridge(thats where the dodge bed truck broke down) a pretty good deal of 52,700 all in including the tow, it was showing 17.3 mpg on the d.i.c. i filled it to the neck drov straight to flying j in calgary filled to the neck again, did the math and found that the d.i.c was off a bit my calcs showed it to be 16.88. it had 261 miles showing on the odo there is 3160 on the odo as of today. as for the mods i bought a turbo to cat headpipe and made the rest to hookup to the sidepipes, picked up a ppe from dps in calgary, everyones suggestions on the forums here said ppe and 4"tb so thats what i did! modded the airbox too! (next im gonna get the egr plate from tyler meyer) My first trip to edmonton a couple days later the d.i.c. showed 23.7 but it was quite off as hard figures showed 21.1, but i was playing with my new found power so when i drive like a human i seem to be getting 24-25 i guess i got a wednesday truck.

is it ok with the dealer? welllllll, to be honest, afer the way they treated my dad and i with our last trucks (which were mon or fri trucks) the next time it sees the" DEALER" will probably be with whoever i sell it to, it wont be me tho.the ranck is 1/2 way between calgary and cochrane. space for rigs is not a problem and the bbq and firepit area holds a lot of people. so come on out, lets have as the great ed whalen said ("a ringa ding dong dandy")

Hey fellas, I am in Calgary as well and would be up for having a gathering; had to setup this temporary account as my regular account would not let me sign in? Anybody willing to setup a facebook group for easier planning, and try and recruit a few more?
