Is it really woth getting a 4inch exhaust over the 3 1/2 inch stock straight piped?

IMO yes it does open the exhaust quite a bit and flows more, will also lower egt's.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes..... If you could only do 1 mod to your entire truck, it should be a 4 inch exhaust on a Diesel. Lowers EGT's up to 200 degrees, maybe more...and that will let your truck run cooler, better, and last longer....WORLD of difference. Plus it looks 100 times better.....As far as brands go....4 inch piping is 4 inch piping....all companies pretty much sell the same, just depends whether you want bolt on tip or welded on tip, SS, etc.... I would personally look at Banks or Magnaflow....they sell welded tips and different designs. If you want bolt on tips...MBRP or Silverline is good.....all personal preference. I personally love my Banks and did away with my MBRP.

FWIW, I had my truck straight piped before I put the 4" system on and the only difference I noticed was sound. Straight piped 3.5" and my 4" EGTs are pretty much the same. This is on an LB7 with no cat. It all comes down to if you have the money for a new system and if you mind the extra noise of the straight pipe...personally I thought my truck was quieter in the cab cruising with the straight pipe than with the MBRP system I have now....but at about 2200 rpms, straight pipe is pretty loud in the cab. I straight piped my truck because I didn't have the money at the time for an exhaust...later my friend ordered and exhaust and a programmer....I got a good deal ordering at the same time so I bought the 4" system. I still may be taking the muffler off the 4" system though...to see if the cruising drone goes away. (my truck cruises at about 1800 rpms @ 65 mph)

Flowmasters are not stainless steel, as far as i know, and neither are the factory exhausts. They are aluminized steel. They rust. A straight pipe on your factory exhaust will give you a good cheap exhaust note. A 4"/5" stainless will give your LB7 a good, not too cheap, VERY long lasting exhaust note. You have no factory cat so any performance gain will need a dyno to be found.

KILLERBEE Designed Intake piece- Everyone needs one of these!
Rock it till it sounds expensive!
Dont argue with a moron in public....Others may be confused on whos who.
IMO since you don't have a cat anyway then the 3 1/2 stock with a muffler delete would be plent for most people. If you were gonna build the tranny and go for 500 hp i would say different.
