Lb7 S&B Intake and Pro-Fab Turbo Horn Review

So for my Birthday my awesome girlfriend bought my and S&B intake and Profab intake Horn! From a first glance both parts were of great quality and look great. Now I ken the intake horn install was a B**ch to install but i had no idea how bad. I am glad its over. And because i have the emmsions 03 northeastern LB7 the piping was slightly different up top on the motor than the 01 and 02 lb7s which made it that much more difficult to get to the bolts. But after the install, which by the way took me 6 hours beginning to end with a run to the dealership for a turbo horn gasket, i am very very satisfied with both products. My truck whistles a lot more, so more power overall, and best part for me any ways was the fact that it cleaned up a lot of the residule black smoke my truck would throw when i really put my foot in it......

On a side note, i previously had an AEM brute force intake which had made my truck smoke(black) a lot more than it did stock, and my MPGs went 1-2 on avg. I measured the AEM before i got rid of it and it measured just over three inches at the intersecting point of the MAF sensor, where as the stock pipe and the S&B are at 4 inches(inside diameter), which i think is why the AEM smoked more. BUT thats just my .02.

Anyways ill drive the truck more and ill report back with some MPGs. Hopefully they will be better

Also any opinion/ criticism is appreciated on any way to better my tuck...i have a PPE boost valve that im up in the air about installing....any opinions are welcome

So here are so pics of the install... and btw the HOT pipe going into the turbo is gross and caked with shit.... that is what a couple of those pics are of

After reading what u got it was scary crazy how it almost read as if I typed it! Lol but I agree my 01 smokes alot less with the exact same set up. And I'd say get the boost valve I got one just figured its just $30 really can't go wrong. Just wish if I had a gauge to see before and after but my truck I can get 27psi out of her a WOT

Your truck was probably smoking because the AEM was choking off the air coming through it.
