So I bought an 06 LBZ CC/SB 4x4. Really happy with it. 1 owner. drives great still, but it does have 285K on the clock.
Best I can tell it hasn't towed heavy and has always been bone stock and was well maintained. Right now there is no blowby at the oil fill cap while running, no smoke at all on startup. Should I be cautious about tuning the truck? I know I'm not doing anything until I get a blocker plate on and an exhaust.
So the real question is to tune or not to tune? I've got a PPE economy I've used on the last 4 dmax's I've had, but I'm pretty sure everyone is on the EFI live bandwagon now. The power on a stock LBZ isn't bad, but a tuned truck is always much much more fun. If I do tune I'll do a trans-go JR and some mild tuning. I'm a little apprehensive after hearing about the whole piston cracking stuff.
Any advice is appreciated guys.
