Diesel dumb

Hey guys, lookin to do a few mods to my 07 Classic LBZ (exhaust and tuner). Looks like PPE is the fan favorite which sounds good to me. Diesel Power ran an ad about the Superchip Cortex, has anyone tried or heard anything about it? As for the exaust, I'd like to go with the 4" turbo back but with all this talk about dpf's and warranty's, it's got me a little spooked. I'm not lokin for huge hp mainly mpg and a little more sound. Could use some help. Thanx

Also DPF, what is this?
do I have it?
and if so does the tuner get rid of it?

and If you do exhaust its only gnna take the warranty off the exhaust...

AND YOU DONT HAVE A DPF!!!!!!!! its an LBZ only LMM have DPF's if you knew that alrdy... then wat I said above is what you'd b dealin with

I think any exhaust is betta than stock

Hey Tyler, was hoping you were online. So if I go w/ a standard PPE, 4" turbo back, and some gauges that will get me close to what I'm looking for?

as far as stock exhausts go the duramax exhaust is great, but there is always room for improvement.

A PPE standard, boost/pyro, exhaust will get you goo results.\

I would also had an EGR blocker and fingerstick as well as a transgo JR.

Yes the 4" and PPE with gauges is a great start. And like stated above me if budget allows a transgo jr is a nice addition as well.

A 4 inch aftermarket will lower EGTs about 200 degrees and make your truck sound better. If you remove your CAT and get a 4 inch...your EGT's will drop even more, you'll get a better sound, and your truck will cool faster. An exhaust is important when adding HP. As far as a CAI (Cold Air Intake) goes...unless you are pushing 500+ HP....your stock box is FINE. So don't waste your money. And if you get the PPE, block the EGR as well. It's a cheap mod that's worth the time. The plate costs like 15 bucks. I have the same truck as you, so I know what these upgrades do for you....and trust me, they are worth it. Also, gauges are VERY important. When adding extra HP, you need to watch the EGT's...that's why CAT removal and 4 inch exhaust help A LOT.

If you are worried about warranty, get the cat-back kit and the front-pipe separately. This will allow you to put the cat back in place for dealer visits etc. PPE makes the best tuners for the Duramax, all others are trying to catch up as far as Im concerned. They have several different versions depending on your overall power goal. I suggest the Standard version as it is more than enough power for most people and is upgradable if you choose to go bigger in the future. Let me know if youd like a quote on a package deal.
