I know this is a popular question but i cant seem to find a definite answer. I already have the bullydog powerpup and i am thinking about switching over to something else. i used my truck as a dd and tow occasionally. id like to see some smoke when i do choose to get into it but i also dont want to have to do much to the tranny. any suggestions on what programmer to buy?

Here is the biggest question...how much do you want to spend???
400 - get a quad
500-600 get a PPE
700+ get EFI live if you have a laptop.
The Quad will give you mileage/smoke/towing power...
The PPE will give you extra mileage/ not as much smoke / towing power...
Efi Live will give you whatever you want...you can probably even program it to make you coffee....

haha not sure id be needing coffee. hopefully the power would be enough to keep me awake. EFI Live is not really in the budget. The quad seems like the best bang for the buck to me. I just want to lose my powerpup and get more low end power since i dont generally let my truck go too far above 2000 rpms unless of course i want to smoke a ricer

If you are budgeting...get a Quad and run a low tune to see how it does. PPE is 100.00 more...and they guarantee a 1-2 MPG gain...and they de-fuel between shifts to help your tranny. I'm not sure if Quad does that.
My advice to you.... PPE is more widely used and trusted, and if you get it you will be happy. And if it were me, I'd have a PPE. But...if you don't want to spend the money, the Quad will not dissapoint you either. Does that make any sense? It's hard to give you an exact answer because they are def. close for what you would be using it for.
