What is DPF?

Sorry still learning about my d-max. I have read alot of talk on here about DPF. Well my question is what is it? Does it concern my truck?

07 Chevrolet LBZ

No you dont have one, it is an evil filter that collects soot

Ok, i so does it have to do with the LMM's and the exhaust?

Its a diesel particulate filter in catches the soot, and after it builds up so much it goes into regen. Which injects diesel to burn off the built up soot.
