LBZ Y bridge and LBZ Van Y bridge

Ive learned from another forum that the LBZ van Y bridges are somewhat like the lb7 intakes, nice and un-restricted.

LBZ's have the intake heater, egr assembly.
Since Im in AZ I have no reason for the intake heater, as I already have a spacer from Mike.

My plan is to buy a van LBZ intake Y bridge for like $140, cut the top off of it since it is a flandge style, and weld 3" aluminum tube to it exactly like the lb7 cold side intakes.

Updates to follow.

This not only smoothes out flow to the intake manifolds, but gets rid of the intake heater and is a option to remove the egr assembly.
The van unit is 140 bucks and PPE sells it for over 600.
Im going to have a friend weld it up for me, and hope it is cheaper.

You gotta show us some pics about this. I'm quite interested in this too. But one question, is the LBZ van "Y" bridge has a smaller diameter than your LBZ intake? I know for a fact the LBZ van is detuned as mine is. I would like to see a pic of the original LBZ van "Y" style bridge.

The van lbz intake y bridge is the same diamiter as the lbz pickup models, and round not squareish looking
i'll see if i can find a picture.

Sounds like an awesome project! I wish I had EFI live already, I'd do the same as you would do. I need to find a 2nd job! Are you planning to use KillerBee's water/meth setup since you are using the van y bridges?

No, im not going to put anything in front of my turbo except a air filter, too risky IMO.

Ill stick with the labonte setup that I have currently, all i will need it a SD manifold for the LB7's that has the pre drilled and tapped holes in ot for boost, water meth nos etc.

Ah I get ya. If that was me, I'd put it after the turbo just before the Y bridge since the air heater is going to be deleted, the boost could push it better into the cylinders for a more denser air. It would be cooler that way than before the turbo. It would act like a secondary aftercooler.

Yupp thats my plan, If I have enough air line for the water meth, I want to plumb it in just after the outlet of the pass side intercooler boot. with a SD mnaifold.

What exactly is special about this SD manifold, I haven't heard much about them.
