Banks 3" Boost Tube

Back at the end of June, we had a thread up discussing the advantages and availability of updating the LLY, LBZ, & LMM turbo-to-CAC boost tube from 2.5” up to the 3” as on the earlier LB7 Dmax.

Turbo Tube !!!!

While there were other sources available for this update, heeding the call of market desire, Banks put together a kit, Part # 25936 – ($150), for half the price offered by others.

It’s coming up on 2 months since these became available, so how did this upgrade perform for ya’ll?

Was it all it was marketed as? Was it just a bust to waste money on? Did anyone decide to wait on the newer 3.5” Stainless tubes promised?

it was from my understandment that if you installed bigger intercooler pipes without installing a bigger intercooler, the pipes are useless. correct me if i am wrong

The upgrade to 3" matches the CAC input, 3.5" would be bigger though, IIRC.

ok so your going to get a bit of gain but not to the full advantage like having the pipes and the intercooler

I have a couple of these hanging around I could see fit to part with.....but you'll have to source the silicone adapter and T-clamp elsewhere for the time being. Let me know if anyone is interested by PM.

As for Banks......I can't say what happened......these pipes are still not available directly from Banks. I even had my Banks mole search around for them to no avail.......

I just put on the AFE IC pipe. Couldn't tell much of a difference but I will say for me it was worth every penny for the way the new bottom boot fits with the new AFE pipe, and gets rid of the old cheesy boot
