1st post, couple of things.

Whazzup fellaz. This is my first post here, I read for a while and figured I'd just ask instead of trying to search everything out. First off, I just bought a 09 ltz z71 duramax. This is my 3rd one. First was an 03, next and 07, and now the new one. My buddy told me not to bother putting a chip on this one cause there is something in the exhaust that wont allow the chip to add all the gains I'm used to.. he told me what it was but he's the guru and I just drive em... something like a fuel defibrillator or some crap. Whatever it is makes my truck not smoke at all. I've noticed that and figured he's somewhat right with the dems calling the shots, nothing surprises me, and I hear the 2010's are going to be alot more restrictive... but thats a whole nother thread. Sooo, I called the diesel shop in town and he also told me what it was but said I could still put the chip on it and it wouldnt effect the gains at all contridicting my buddy, who knows his crap. Which is true. Will I have to mod my exhaust to get all the gains out of the EDGE w/ Attitude? What EXACTLY is this in the exhaust? I dont want to void my warranty at all!

Two. My dealer called me tonight and asked "you know how fast you had your truck?" laughing I said. " Topped out at like 110" He said, a guy that knows all about the chip that they are taking out of my old truck for me was going threw it and said my top speed was 159!!! I said there's no way and that it pretty much topped out around 110. he then stated that the chip takes the limiters out and thats what it says... I told him it has to be kms or something. Is there ANY way this is true?? LMAO The chip is the edge with attitude. I never unlocked the hot unlock... wish I would have tho!

yea welcome to the forum your truck has a dpf(diesel particulate filter)far as warranty idk,gm warranty not worth much.

All Im reading here is that as soon as you program it, it will void the warranty. GM is suppose to be able to look at the last 10 ECM flashes.

It doesnt void the 100000 mile powertrain warranty... At least they havnt said anything to me before... but he has said I cant remove the catalytic converter... that it would void the warranty.
