Thumbs down Best LLY upgrades?

I've had my '05 LLY for about 3 months now. I have already changed out the MP using KillerBee's kit. I currently use this truck to haul an 18' trailer with either hay, or my tractor and a 4-wheeler. Total trailer weight about 9500 or so. From time to time, I will pull a 33' travel trailer or a bumper pull cattle trailer, both weighing less than the 18' when loaded. It is fine for what I currently use it for, but still want to upgrade a bit for possible future towing needs. What is the next logical step? Tuner or exhaust? Or is there another better option? The truck has about 115k on it. Thanks.

I would do a exhaust, then tuner. It is nice to let the truck breath more before giving it more power.

If you have any questions let me know.

Thanks Tyler. I'm not going to go crazy with power on this duramax. I suspect the exhaust is all original, so would a turbo back be appropriate or should I go with a cat back? I love the quietness of this diesel. I am not a big fan of noise. That only impresses others, and I'm not interested in doing that. I've heard that if cat back then go with 4" and if turbo back then only go 5" if lots of power is to be added. Any comments?

disagree...banks isnt the best tuner for any dmax specially one that plans on towing

do an exhaust first like tyler said you will love it....then get a tuner if you would like more power...quadzilla is good for those on a budget and ive had good luck with my superchip flashpaq on my lly and it was very cheap...

if you wanna get the best tow tune possible efi is the way to go but its gonna cost you 800 bucks or so

a decent exhaust can be had for under 300

Definately do a down-pipe-back. That is what they call the full exhaust on the Duramax. It will get you the best results. 4" will be plenty for any power level.
