Another thing to add concerning the Edge Evolution. For $100 yo can purchase an unlock code that will install 3 more tunes into it making it equivalent to the Evo race. Something to think about if you want to start small then expand later on if you decide you want more power and have upgraded your trans.

now thats a helpful hint! so it would be cheaper to go with the cts evo..and then just buy the 100 dollar unlock code...to make ti a race..then to pay 800 bucks for the race... hmm intresting.. how do i find this unlock code? throuhg edge? or a seperate company..and does it work 100%?

Admittedly, I do not have much experience with tuners other than my Edge Evolution Race, but I will say that I LOVE it. On Level 2, there is a built in turbo brake that uses your VVT turbo to slow the truck down in T/H mode. With no brakes at all, the truck will take itself down to about 15mph (unloaded, but you get the idea). Level 4 (100hp) will get you a little puff of smoke when you really get it on it, but anything above that requires supporting mods. Even for level 4, you should have at least a Transgo Jr.

I have the older model, so I can't speak for the color screen/ touch screen stuff, but those are more expensive and don't include a Pyrometer. IMO, if you can still find the older unit, it's the way to go. I paid $550 + $40 for the gauge pod from a vendor on this site.
