More than likely, yes, you will need to recalibrate your speedo and a programmer will do that for you. There really is no "best" programmer, its whichever one is best for YOUR application. As for how it can help you......adds power, lowers EGT, monitors engine parameters, resets trouble codes, allows for future mods, increases gas mileage, and plenty more!

Best bang for the buck tuner out is Quadzilla stealth 2, offers free internet updates, hp ratings up to 135 hp, and a dpf delete if you want to delete the dpf in future.

quadzilla, PPE, and efi live are the good ones for the 08s. EFI is the best, but takes some learning. You can change any setting you want to with EFI live. Quadzilla and PPE are handheld tuners.

i agree with the above..one question though, why the 4" lift and only 33" tires..i run 33" tires with just the Torsion bars turned up on my 06 GMC but it's a classic.i did a set of 33's on a new Chevy(new body style)with only a leveling kit and with now rubbing..i would do a set of 35's with the 4" lift so it looks better..

4in lift & 33's

I have the new body. I tried running 33's with just a 2.5" leveling kit and an add a leaf in the rear. Wouldnt work. I want to run a 13.50 on a 9" kmc wheel, just looks a lot better to me then a 12.50. I really dont want the truck to be jacked way up in the air. Just wanted to get the pizza slicer wheels and tires it came with off and make it look like a 4x4. I already bought the 33's so I will try them first. If it looks strange I guess I will cough up the money and get 35's. But I think to go to a 35 I would have to go 12.50. Just dont really want the truck any higher then it will be with 33's and love the look of the wider tire.

oh ya. I think the main problem I have is the wheel size. Trying to run a 20x9.5 kmc spy wheel. I think I could get away with just a leveling kit on a 17 or 18 inch wheel. But dont want to do that.
