PPE Race valve

has anybody ever installed the race valve on there LLY?04.5-08 GM 6.6L Duramax PPE Race valve

Features: Will not allow any fuel back to gas tank allowing 100% of fuel to be available in extreme performance environments. Eliminates low fuel pressure rail trouble codes such as 1093 (low fuel pressure during power regiment) and helps maintain requested fuel pressure during full throttle with even the hottest program enhancements

it wont help with a huge tune w/o a lift pump, but i cant suck mine dry anymore with my 135 tune, some ppl dont like them in case you get a fuel rail press spike but ive never heard of that happening just dont round the factory fprv off or youll have to remove the whole fuel rail to change it.

I took a wrench and ground down one side so it would have more contact onto the plug. Most wrenches have a chamfer on both sides and that gives less contact on the narrow plug.

I just dis a shim on mine.

The shim kit is all you need, the race fuel valve can cause cracked injector bodies if there is a pressure spike (like if your fpr starts to go or a piece of trash gets in it).

There are a bunch of great vendors on here, it is made by PPE, 15 bucks I think, or you can put one together yourself. It is just a couple 4mm stainless washers and a nut to remove the orifice from the body.
