Quadzilla Stealth 2 vs PPE Xcelerator??? + Exhaust ?'s

Hey guys....Im new to the Duramax World... I sold my 02 RAM(cummins) and Loving the New Chevy !!!

Im familiar with diesels since I previously owned the Dodge....but have several ?'s on for my DMAX.

Im will be buying several add ons soon and would like any feedback from others on the items Im looking at buying.

Any pro's or cons on the 2 programmers I have listed above???

As far as exhaust goes....Do most of you guys run straight pipes///NO cat or NO muffler? Is there a huge difference on a 4' exhuast system with muffler vs no muffler. I know that MBRP sales systems with and without muffler..(I believe) Any ideas or suggestions guys.
Thanks, Travis

The sound difference is considerable different from exhuast wth and without muffler, they are both pretty quiet until you accerate then you will notice with muffler will be pretty tame, and withot muffler will screambut in a good way. The 5" will have a deeper exhaust sound than 4".

Both tuners are very good, PPE is themost well known tuner for the Duramax, both have the same functions, and very close to the same hp numbers.

I came from a 02 cummins also so i know how great the change is as well.

But is there sufficient room when installing the 5in from the turbo or is it a Major B@#$ch?

Sounds like the PPE Xcelerator may be the way to go if that is the case

The first pipe is actually 4" and it does not clamp directly to the turbo, it connects the down-pipe.. And the rest of the exhaust will fit fine.

Just like tyler said there is a pretty big difference in having a muffler and not having one. I love the sound of a straight piped d-max and it really isan't that loud inside the cab.

I have not run the quadzilla, but have heard nothing but good things from them. I have however run PPE and they are great. The only thing better is EFI live.

4" is really all that you need, you won't see that much of a egt drop going to the 5" unless you are pushing higher HP numbers. I ran a 4" for a long time before swapping to the 5". I probably wouldn't have even swapped if i hadn't smashed my pipe by backing into a car.
