I just got my Duramax (2008 2500HD, 6.6L LMM) and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of improvements to make or things to stay away from. I'm just trying to sort through all crap right now.....

Well...I'm new to the Duramax too...like 350 miles on my 2500 4x4 and I miss my supercharged Titan so I need more power. Does eliminating the DPF really help mileage and power ?

It looks like either the Quadzilla or PPE programmer are the way to go for the DPF removal...any preference ?

Yes the removal of the DPF with the addition of a Quadzilla or a PPE will make you forget all about your titan.

What do you do with the truck that plays a big part in what i recomend tuner wise. Also do you plan on trans upgrades in the future, becuase you dont want to add over 90hp to the stock trans, or could damage the clutches.

Congrats on the truck and welcome to the forum.

Oh sure....I get out of the Titan because the 480 hp to the wheels is really to much for the trans and diff and get into a diesel with the indestructable Allison and find out it's destructable.

So....what should I do if leaving the PDF intact is an issue....kinda liking the 100,000 mile warranty...at least for now.

Ok....I'm a do-it-yourselfer and I have two lifts in my shop so is the shift kit a mechanic friendly install or a trans specialist install.
