First video was 291.7. Second Video was 290.6. First vid I didn't make weight in the 6500 lbs class so I had to run the 8500lbs. Second video had better classes and ran in the 7500 lbs street.
I was worried about it to but it didn't hop at all. I had ti rod sleeves and the basics. Front end is lowered as far as torsion bolts will back out. Seriously the only thing to worry about breaking when doing it is transfer case. I put it in 3rd, tow haul, 4 low leave at 6 lbs of boost roll for 10 foot and then put it to the floor.
Before I upgraded chargers and all I use to get hooked up get the chain tight and I would let off the break and keep the chain tight. I never built boost I just rolled into it because I wanted to feel the truck come off the line nice and smooth and get a little ways out. Then about 50' out I would have my foot all the way to the floor. Get to the end and bump D and then into N and slowly bring the RPM's down.
Now I get the chain tight, build some good boost and then let the big dog eat! If I try rolling out it bounces because of the instant RPM's once the charger lights. Completely different animal now.
Find a brush pull that doesn't have rules. Make your first hook out there so you can take your time and take it easy the first time out because before you know it your at the end of the track. If you do your research and listen to people that have been there and done that and knows what works you will be pretty safe starting out and will learn some more as you go.
Its a weak link in the truck. They have done 14 of them at the GM dealer I work at. Someone lets a u-joint go for to long and other fine parts like to snap crack and drip red cool aid.
How can I build boost to take off in? This guy I met at the track had the same problem and wouldn't you know it that he was pulling right after me and turbo lit as soon as he brake tq.
I might be at allen county. If michindoh hooks the 2.6 trucks in preble early friday. Me and a bunch other 2.6 guys will load up and hall ass north to make the hot class at allen county.
i didnt know the tcase was a weak spot i just read on here yesterday someone asking the limit and there were multiple 6 7 hundred hp trucks using them and never had a problem?
duramax 963- do you have any tranny work done and also what power tune are you running, do you have lift pump also? would really like to try this. just looking for some info.
Transmission is stock. You can run big tunes in 4 low because it wont hurt the tranny. No lift pump and a 150hp tune. And yes the transfer case can be a weak link.
