west of columbus ohio. no the middle is open it lifts from the edges i have some pics i was told tonight it was a 8000 lbs lift and it has rollers so it can be moved and you dont need to bolt it in the concrete

it has a locking mech in the side of the post and you have to hold a handle down when lowering to get past the locks
