The 6.4 without cat/dpf and proper tuning will put down 550+ without issues. They have not had any issues with heads, trans, turbos, etc. It is a solid platform.
only time will tell with the 6.4L...
At the pace they are going,...all the head diesel techs say the same thing...they hate the 6.4L's,...and within a few years,...they'll be just as problematic as the 6.0L
Don't worry about bein' beat one time by a Ford...every dog has a good day once in awhile. I would be willin to bet that all things being equal, I would still run my Dmax against his Ford any day and twice on Sunday!!

Way I look at it: No matter what you drive....if you do enough mods, and do them right, you can have a fast truck. I have nothing against Fords.....I actually wish Chevy did a "custom interior" like they do.

Getting beat by someone with around +/-190hp more than you is something that you kind of have to expect! Kinda like an Aveo taking on a Mustang.. Looks like time to get EFIlive, and a Suncoast, then go looking for a rematch

For all of you saying the 6.4 is junk, how come your junky LMM can't put down 550hp with just a tune, intake and exhaust?Yes they are having injector recalls, but their trans is fine if tuned right. Im a believer in the 6.4
I wish I would have known that the LMM's were "junk" before I bought mine...???

Yes they are having injector recalls, but their trans is fine if tuned right. Im a believer in the 6.4
u may want to talk to guys that work on them before saying that . this coming from the head diesel tech at ford , sending the trucks away cause of being overloaded with them

Don't hang your head on this one. Heck I wouldn't even have a new found respect for them. Your predator tuned LB7 got beat by the best tuning there is for a 6.4. Lets put apples to apples here and see that spartan tuned 6.4 run away from an efi tuned LBZ or LMM.
