08 LMM Plowing adjustments

Hey, Im an ex-ford driver with an 08 Chevy Duramax crew cab short bed. I have a 8' fisher s/s plow (2-minute mount). I am going to get this all installed and hooked up but before the season starts is there any experienced plowers with a similiar set-up or any tips or things i should know before I drop the blade.

Should I turn my torsion keys up a little and how much before i'm stressing anything on the truck and messing with the shocks.

Counter balancing with weight in the bed?!

Any information helps me out!

Thanks a ton in advance!

Its gonna be kinda specific to your truck and it depends on what you want. Heres what id say.

1. Crank up the tbars with the plow off till the truck sits level (usually measure the heigth of the fener well on the fron and rear of the truck crank till level.

2. If your gonna have the plow on all the time you might want to crank the bars up with the plow on then get it aligned witht the plow on so it sits level and straight. But, if you just have the plow on part of the time this would have the alignment way off and could hutthe shocks.

No matter what you do make sure you get a alignment when your done!

I'm in the same boat as you, coming from fords I never had to deal with torsion bars. I'm putting a plow on and 265's and was wondering how much to crank the bars up because the front end seems low. Are 3-4 turns going to be about right to raise up about an 1", and do I need a alignment every time I change the bars. The truck is new and I found where the torsion keys are but I don't want to mess something up.
