I have a 08 4x4 3500 srw duramax reg cab. I can't stand how the front end is so low, I have mudflaps on the front and they rub when wheels turned on level ground. I do not want to install a lift as I use the truck to tow and work. My question is can I safely crank torsion bars and install shock extensions with out harming the halfshafts? Right now I have 3 inches difference from front to rear. I also plan on installing air bags on the rear.
You can crank up your torsion bars and you shocks will be fine, just remember higher you go stiffer the ride, drive for a while at desired level and prob should get front end realigned after you find your level.

Yes you can crank up the bars, I would just play around till you find a good compromise between ride and height. If you do crank them up all the way eventually it will wear out the halfshafts, wheelbearings, upper ball joints etc. The shock extenders will smooth the ride out some but not all of it.

Clink on the link to see what I did. The Cognito leveling kit is GREAT since it will fix the bad ball joint angles and also allows for better alignment. There is more upgrades I did that is not needed for just the leveling but take a look and if you need more info just ask.
